From what people tell me, my emails are fun to read and full of stories. I provide weekly resources for creative women entrepreneurs, inspiration and ideas, workshops, events, and MORE! PLUS, I read my emails TO YOU!!
When you all show up to the meeting color-coordinated-ish 😂💕❤️💜
Liz (middle) is an OG She Built This-er and today, her Edward Jones’ office is in my old stomping grounds - Salzburg Square where I learned the ropes of business ownership in iteration #1. She’s become the new mayor of the Square in my absence and is keeping everyone in line over there 🤪.
Terri’s (right) an OG everything-er!! She’s been part of the adventure and a dear friend on my journey since 2014!
Had so much fun connecting with these two beautiful ladies @apparentconnection and @lizlarson.e who ensure there’s never a dull moment in the conversation!
Why am I sharing a picture of a lotion bottle?
My friend told me about this lotion as it’s safe, gentle, and doesn’t contain a bunch of garbage that the smelly stuff does. Being a sensitive-skinned lady, I went ahead and bought some to try. And by try, I mean I dove straight in with the biggest bottle 😂
When it arrived, the top wouldn’t open. 🙄
I know how to open a lotion cap, people.
This one was not budging. After unsuccessfully trying to funnel it into a smaller lotion bottle ((spoiler alert: that doesn’t work but DOES make a mess))…
I emailed the company @everyoneproducts and asked for a new cap and explained the issue.
They did me one better than a new cap. I got a personalized email back from Sam, expressing how this is bound to happen once in every 10,875 caps and they’re sorry I was the unlucky one. They gave me step by step instructions how to fix it based on personal experience.
I tried their counterclockwise black magic… and it WORKED!
The moral of the story: good customer service from a HUMAN even at a large company does still exist.
Moral two: a brilliant reminder that even as small business owners, we get the opportunity to reply and respond like this. Genuinely concerned and here to help, support, and guide!
We can make others feel seen, heard, and understood, sometimes with just a few clicks to the left ❤️
Lessons from a haircut today…
First picture is the after.
Second picture is before.
Winter has taken its toll on my locks, and it was overdue for a cut in the first place. The ends were scraggly as can be, and a “shelf” had developed in the back between the layers 😂
It wasn’t a pretty sight.
I knew today I’d have to part with a little extra length. 🙈
But: The long term goal of my hair is growth! I want lonnngggg long healthy hair!
And sometimes, that means that you need sacrifice or let go in the short term. Trim down the things getting in the way of growth, weighing you down, the whole nine.
The result is a sturdier foundation for long term growth and even more sustainable health! Prepare ye the goodness and abundance waiting on the other side 🔥
Little life/business lesson thanks to a few extra snips. 💇🏻♀️
Working with clients and customers is the ultimate collaboration.
And for many of us, the one we encounter most frequently in running our businesses.
If you’ve ever had a nightmare client, experienced a contractor catastrophe, OR you want to improve your client experience every step of the way, OR you want to be a better CLIENT, this episode is for you!
We’re going to talk about both sides of the coin as contractors and clients so we can be a little better at helping each other help each other.
I get into how to be a better client and contractor and explore:
🌼 Boundaries - respecting and setting them clearly and upfront prevents resentment down the road
🌼 Willingness/readiness - why it matters
🌼 Communication - why overcommunication is great communication!
🌼 Respect - what does it even mean and how do we show it?
🌼 Trust - that little feeling that is everything!
🌼 Things to ask/include in your process to play nice with others
🌼 What to do when things go awry
🌼 And more!

Notes, notes, notes! I loveeeeee me some notes! Always have, and probably always will.
I don't take notes just for the sake of taking notes. Well, I mean, sometimes I do obviously but most often I take notes for:
✨ Remember something
✨ Generate ideas
✨ Ingrain information into my brain
✨ Engage and be present
Just like there are a bazillion reasons under the sun to take notes, there are also endless notetaking techniques!
In this episode of Positively Living, I had the great honor of joining host and Productivity Strategist, Lisa Zawrotny @positively_lisa for a FUN conversation on how to find the best notetaking method for YOU!
