5 GREAT PODCASTS TO START LISTENING TO NOW!
Have you ever wondered how to discover new, favorite podcasts?
In my completely humble and unbiased opinion, my Small Business Casual podcast is definitely up there as one I recommend!
As a member of the podcast community, I’m always stumbling across other women in podcasting creating absolutely fantastic content that deserves to be shared.
Looking back, I realize that I’ve been a podcaster at heart since I was in high school, it just took on different forms until I finally started the She Built This podcast.
My high school senior project involved researching and interviewing parents who’d experienced the grief of losing a child. I sat down with them, recorded the conversations, and turned them into content for my year-long research project. Then, I had to present the results and how we can help support these parents as community members and friends.
From there, I interviewed members of my local community for our Chamber’s blog which I cleverly dubbed “Tuesdays on the Town” (I asked them the questions on Tuesdays).
I was a guest on many other podcasts and featured in radio interviews prior to starting my own, and I’ve been officially addicted to podcasts since hearing the details of Adnon’s trial on Serial: Season One back in 2014.
Learning about life and business through podcasting has been my go-to resource for nearly a decade and my listening preferences have shifted and evolved over time. It’s a wonderful free way to expand your knowledge base, indulge your curiosity, and grow.
How many podcasts do you, on average, listen to a week?
My tally is presently at about 10-15 podcasts per week (give or take).
The average podcast listener subscribes to six shows and listens to approximately eight episodes per week, spending around seven hours a week tuned in.
If you’re a female entrepreneur, chances are high you love listening to podcasts as well to laugh, learn, gain valuable information, and knowledge to grow your business.
With over 5 million podcasts (and 117+ million episodes) to choose from, I thought I’d help you narrow it down a little by sharing my best of the best podcasts at the moment!
I’m not an affiliate marketer for any of these shows, nor do I stand by claims they make, as content focuses and viewpoints are subject to change and need to be individualized to your preferences and needs.

Best Podcast for Folks 35-45
Sometime around age 40 (+/-) you might start feeling like some part of your life no longer fits and you don’t know what to do about it. It could be at work or at home – or simply inside of you. You might be asking questions like, “How did I get here?” Or, “Is this all there is?” “Is this what I’ve been working so hard for?” Or, “Why aren’t I happier?”
Growing out of her own experience turning 40, Stephanie McLaughlin became captivated by the big “four oh,” and how people handle the milestone birthday.
On The Big Four Oh Podcast, Stephanie has conversations with people about their life experience around turning 40. This birthday often comes wrapped in larger life changes, whether it’s a newfound search for meaning, accepting your mortality, or shedding all those things you did because some external authority said you “should.”
