Bye-bye, stock photos! Hello, fresh, real content and the most fun you've ever had creating it!

Candid Content Day

If you’ve ever stared at your phone wondering what on earth to post… then, proceeded to post nothing (again).

If you’ve ever hid behind a stock photo or a photo of your pet…

This day is for you! Creating content alone is for the birds anyway! It’s lonely, slow, and a little painful, amiright? Join us to create it TOGETHER!

Candid Content Day is a three-hour working session for small, intentional business owners who want true-to-you photos, a plan you’ll actually follow, and a few new friends who understand the marketing struggles. You’ll leave with a bank of headshots and on-brand photos plus the know-how to start using them right away!

What is a Candid Content Day?

One-part workshop, one part live-time creation- we start by getting clear on who you’re talking to, what you actually want to say, and how to rethink your content planning.

Then, we break into small groups and move around the studio + outdoors as we take photos of one another using each other’s phones. You’ll learn fun new poses to try and build a bank of images (and video if you want!) to use for months and months of content.

By the end, you’ll know what to post, where, and why!

The benefits continue as you move about your business, share your new content, and breathe that sweet, sweet sigh of relief each and every time you go to post online.

See? I told you it’s more fun with friends!

Like to know exactly what you’re getting and if it’s for you? Look no further!

Deliverables

A bank of 25-50 photos on your phone, ready to be shared on social and beyond. You'll also learn a simple content framework and gain tips and insights to do this again in other settings. You'll connect with other business owners and gain confidence while having a whole lot of fun!

Who It's For

Small business owners, solo entrepreneurs, coaches, creatives, makers, and service providers who are bored or getting stuck in their content creation. You don’t need to be comfortable in front of a camera yet, (or be "photogenic") you just need to be willing to try!

What to Bring

You'll want a notebook or laptop (if you use one to work), a phone with a quality* camera, and 2-3 outfits that feel like your brand. I encourage you to bring any props that tell your business story, like a favorite mug, a microphone, art supplies, or business materials. Pack a bite to eat too, we’ll take a break for a quick snack.

Meet Your Hostess

(the one with the mostess) Hi, I'm Emily Aborn!

In the summer of 2025, a friend and I got bored and decided to take pictures of each other for our business content.

We rented out an office space, picked out a few additional locations, and got snap-happy!

It was SO much fun and by the end of the day, our faces hurt from laughing so hard. We brought out each other’s BEST sides with fresh, in-the-moment photos that we could turn into endless fodder for social media content, website images, and beyond!

While I’m a BIG proponent of formal branding photos and headshots, this is an affordable way to get MORE, day-to-day, ready-to-go photos while working collaboratively with others who will bring out the best in YOU.

I’m a Website Copywriter, Podcast Host, and Marketing Consultant who knows her way around creative ideas. With 12 years of experience, I also know the very BEST content happens when you relax into sharing the true you.

Questions I get asked:

> Do I need to be good at photos or comfortable on camera?
Nope! I will guide you through it all, and with others in the same boat cheering you on, you’ll get more comfortable.

> Will the photos work as headshots?
I’m not a formal headshot photographer, and I highly recommend working with one for a professional headshot. You will, however, leave with polished, natural headshot style images and brand photos taken in a few settings. Many participants have used them on their website, social media, and bio.

> What if I can’t make it?
I understand life happens and things come up. As space is limited and I’m reserving the studio, Candid Content Day and the strategy session add-ons are non-refundable.

> What counts as a “quality” phone camera?

Your cellphone camera will work just fine! The newer the phone, the better (5 years old or less is great), but you don’t need anything special. Here’s a quick way to check your phone quality: Take a photo near a window, zoom in on your face, and see whether it looks sharp and clear. If yes, you’re set!

A few tips for the day: Wipe your lens before you arrive. Clear some storage space so you don’t run out halfway through. Bring a charger or a portable battery.

> What if I’m shy?
That’s very common! We’ll be working in small groups, and you won’t be put on the spot or be asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. You’ll work at your own pace and comfort level.
